PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Post 8 American Legion Baseball team ended a 3 game winning straek and swept a doubleheader from Huron last night by scores of 9-1 and 11-10 at Hyde Stadium. In the nightcap, Pierre played from behind the entire game but a 4 run 7th inning rallied Post 8 to the win. Pierre had a 5 run 4th inning as 3 Pierre pitchers surrendered 18 hits to Huron. Ryan Goodwin, the third Pierre pitcher in the game picked up the win allowing 1 run and 1 hit over the final 3 innings. Alec Norwick and Cash Anderson each had 4 of Pierre’s 13 hits in the game. In the first game, Willie Welch went the distance in picking up the win allowing 6 hits in the game. Anderson had 3 of Pierre’s 10 hits in the opener as Post 8 improved their record to 12 and 13. They take the weekend off and return to the field Monday night when they host Spearfish in a single 9 inning game.
