PIERRE, S.D. (AP) – South Dakota Highway Patrol Lt. Rick Miller has been promoted to the rank of major and will be assistant superintendent in charge of the agency’s administrative operations.
Miller will focus on the use of technology for the Highway Patrol. He also will supervise the agency’s training division, human resources, State Radio and budget and finance.
The 37-year-old Miller is a 12-year veteran of the Highway Patrol. He has been lieutenant in charge of field operations for the patrol’s Rapid City district since 2011.
