PIERRE, S.D. – Dakota Radio Group Sportscaster Pat Morrison of Mobridge will be honored as the South Dakota High School Coaches Association Broadcaster of the Year at the groups high school all star games and coaches clinic next month in Aberdeen.  Jim Dorman, secretary of the coaches association, says that over 500 ballots were returned and Morrison’s name was on more than any other.  Dorman says that Morrison will recieve his award July 17th at the groups awards banquet in Aberdeen.  Morrison is a native of Mobridge and was an all conference baseball player during his playing days at the University of Michigan.  He has been involved in sports his entire life and many will remember him as Dorman does, as a basketball referee.  He has worked at KOLY Radio in Mobridge since 1956.  Others nominated for the award included Jeff Duffy of Huron, Brad Petersen of Sioux Falls and Scott Solberg of Aberdeen.  The Coaches Association alternates the Broadcaster of the Year award with the Sportswriter of the year.
