PIERRE, S.D. (AP) – The South Dakota National Guard Museum in Pierre says it is expanding its summer hours.
Starting July 1, the museum will open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the first Tuesday and the third Thursday of the months through September. Normal museum hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Director Sonja Johnson says the museum showcases weapons, uniforms and other artifacts carried or worn by South Dakota Guardsmen from the Civil War to the Gulf War.
Johnson says the expanded hours will allow both travelers and residents who work until 5 p.m. a chance to visit.
