HOUSTON – Pierre Governor basketball player Conrad Adam has beaten the odds. Adam, who missed last season’s State Championship run by the Governor basketball team won a bigger battle than any state championship game. Conrad, who was discovered with a rare form of bone cancer in his leg in August of 2012 and lost the leg in the ensuing months was declared Cancer Free yesterday at the clinic in Houston that he has been visiting over the course of the last year or so. Adam’s battle with cancer became a statewide effort during the last school year as thousands of dollars was raised and the term “Conrads Clan” became a household word in South Dakota. Adam, prosthetic leg and all, is a true hero.
