RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) – A Powerball ticket sold in Rapid City is worth $2 million in the latest drawing.
South Dakota lottery officials say the ticket matched all five white ball numbers but missed the Powerball to win the game’s $1 million second prize in the Wednesday drawing. The person who bought the ticket also purchased a $1 option that doubled the prize.
The odds of winning $2 million playing Powerball are one in about 5.2 million. The winner has about six months to claim the money.
Powerball is played in 43 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The estimated jackpot for the Saturday drawing is $60 million.
