Rattlers Go 3-0 In Tournament in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Pierre Rattlers amateur baseball team went 3 and 0 over the weekend in a tournament in Sioux Falls.  After downing Luverne, Minnesota and Renner by one run each in games on Saturday, the Rattlers defeated the host Sioux Falls Saints yesterday 9-4 to wrap up the weekend.  Alex McGuigan improved his record to 2-0 on the season with two innings of relief of starter Ryan Yackley in the win.  Yackley led Pierre’s 6 hit attack in the game with a pair of doubles.  In Saturday’s win over 3-2 Luverne, Harry Decker went the distance to pick up the win allowing 3 runs on 9 hits.  Matt Sisk had a pair of doubles for the Rattlers in the win.  In Pierre’s 4-3 victory over Renner, Allen Goodman went the distance allowing 7 hits and 3 runs.  Sisk had 2 hits in the game for Pierre and Adam Spoehr’s 2 run triple drove in the tying and winning runs for Pierre in the 6th inning.  The Rattlers improve to 5-0 on the season as they take a week off and return to action a week from Tuesday when they travel to Miller for a single 9 inning game.
