Rattlers Edge Wessington Springs

WESSINGTON SPRINGS, S.D. – The Pierre Rattlers Amateur Baseball team improved their record to 2-0 on the season with a 2-1 win over the Wessington Springs Owls Tuesday night in Wessington Springs.  Allen Goodman and Harry Decker each had 2 hits for the Rattlers who scattered 7 in the game.  Sam Koenecke, the second of four pitchers used in the game by Rattlers head coach Tyson Lindekugel, was the winning pitcher for Pierre allowing no runs and just 2 hits over 3 innings.  Decker started went the first two innings striking out 3 and allowing the 1 run.  Goodman and Bob Bennett also pitched for the Rattlers with Bennett getting the save.  The Rattlers will play the Pierre Post 8 Legion squad in an exhibition game Thursday at Hyde Stadium at 7 pm.  Saturday and Sunday, the Rattlers will play in a tournament in Sioux Falls.
