DEADWOOD, S.D. (AP) — The opening of the new $5.5 million Days of ’76 Museum in Deadwood has been marred by the crash of a horse-drawn wagon that injured four people in the historic city in western South Dakota’s Black Hills. The free wagon rides were being given Saturday to celebrate the opening of the museum that tells the story of the American West. A passenger in the wagon says it overturned in the arena of the Days of ’76 rodeo grounds after one of the two horses pulling it apparently spooked. The newspaper reported that by Saturday afternoon, two of the injured people had been released from a hospital, while two remained hospitalized in fair condition.
