First the flood… then the drought! Who hasn’t got a few dead areas in their lawn? The SDSU Extension Service in Pierre is hosting a “lawn care workshop for homeowners” on Wednesday, May 22 at 7 p.m. The workshop will cover many aspects of lawn care; including types of grasses, seeding, fertilizer programs, mowing, watering and weed control. The program will focus on best management practices for lawns. This workshop is free to the public and everyone is welcome to attend.
On Thursday, May 23rd the SDSU Extension Service will host a Turfgrass Management Workshop geared for Turf Professionals. This class is designed for professionals caring for turfgrasses in a broad range of management systems including parks, golf courses and recreation area. it will provide the latest in updated management techniques to new and experienced professional turf managers. The class will begin at 8 am and run until 12:15 pm on May 23rd. Registration is $20.00 per person. To pre-register for this class call 773-8120 by May 21.
The workshops will be held at the SDSU Regional Extension Center located on the ground floor of the Kenyon Building at 412 West Missouri Avenue in Pierre.
