Getz Repeats as State AA Golf Champion

Halliey Getz 2

YANKTON, S.D. – Pierre Lady Governor golfer Hallie Getz cemented herself into South Dakota High School golf and Pierre Lady Governor golf history on Tuesday as she pulled away to claim an 8 stroke victory over Abby Grevlos of Sioux Falls Lincoln to record her second state high school girls golf title. Getz recorded rounds of 76 on Monday and 77 on Tuesday which was good enough to vault Getz into the record books. Getz, who held on for a one stroke victory last year at the State Tournament was never challenged this year as she becomes the second State Champion in golf along with Taylor Smalley from 3 years ago. Getz had a 153 to Grevlos 161 and she had to defeat Yankton’s Megan Mingo in a 1 hole playoff to claim second place. Getz, who will attend South Dakota State next year to play collegiate golf, becomes a member of a handful back to back state champions over the years.
