FORT PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) The Stanley County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of track equipment belonging to Stanley County High School.  Chief Deputy Sheriff Greg Swanson says the department was told on Friday morning that two track pit cushions had been taken from behind Parkview Gymnasium.  The cushions, measuring 8 x 5 x 2 feet had been placed on a trailer near the gym and were likely taken sometime Thursday night or early Friday morning.   Swanson says the cushions are used by the school’s pole vaulters.  They are blue in color and have the word “Gill” on them.  The pit cushions are valued at $1,600 each.  If anyone has information on the thefts or has seen the cushions, they should contact the Stanley County Sheriff’s Department at 223-7792.
