HURON, S.D. – The Pierre Governor and Lady Governor track and field teams wrapped up the regular season yesterday at the Mark Wendelglass meet in Huron. No team points were kept and the meet was used as a tune up for next week’s State Track and Field Meet and giving athletes a last chance to qualify for next week’s State Meet. For the Lady Govs, Eileen Leong won the 400 meter dash and the 4×100 meter relay cross the finish line first. For the Governor boys, Chris Rumrill won the 400 meter dash and Weston Christensen crossed the finish line first in the 3200 meter run ahead of teammate Jebben Keyes. Lane Severyn won the 300 meter hurdles race for the Govs ahead of Shay Reinke and Matt Booth for a 1-2-3 Governor finish. The Governor Boys Distance Relay also finished ahead of Brookings to win. And the Governors Graham Protexter ended the regular season winning the shot put.
