ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Pierre Lady Governor golf team won another tournament onTuesday as they traveled to Aberdeen and won the Aberdeen Invitational played at the Lee Park Golf Course. The Lady Govs fired a 341 and claimed a 10 stroke victory over runnerup Watertown. Aberdeen Central had a 353 and Mitchell a 384 in the four team field. Hallie Getz also continued her winning ways with a 1 under par 71 and a 4 shot victory over ESD champion Kristin Sabers of Mitchell to take the individual medalist honors. Pierre had 3 players finish in the top 10 as Karissa Guthrie fired a 85 for a 5th place finish and Jenna Johnson shot a 91 for a 9th place finish. Paige Lonbakken had a 94 and Katie Bartlett a 95 for other Lady Gov scores rounded out by Shelly Guthrie’s 108. The Lady Govs won every tournament they played during the course of the regular season and are one of the co-favorites to capture the State Class AA title that will be played next Monday and Tuesday.
