MOBRIDGE, S.D. – Three boys from Stanley County have qualified for the State Class B Boys golf tournament next week after their 4th place finish in the Region 5B golf tournament golfed Monday in Mobridge. The Buffalos had a 285 team scored tied with Eurka who got third be prevailing in a scorecard playoff. Those Two teams were 1 shot out of second place behind Potter County and two shots behind team champion Sully Buttes. Brayden Wittler of Sully Buttes was the individual champion firing a 83 to claim a two stroke victory over runner up Jordan Maier of Eureka. Tyler Smith fired a 93 for the top score of the day for Stanley County to finish 10th. Seth VanDenHemmel had a 94 to finish 11th and Nate Cronin had a 98 to finish 15th. The top 18 golfers qualified for the State B tournament plus the top two teams. Blake Onken of the Buffalos had a 110 and a 28th place finish. In the Region 5B girls tournament, Sully Buttes won the team title with a score of 315. Herreid was next with a 332. Nicole Mosiman of the Lady Chargers was the individual medalist of the tournament with a 89 and a 4 shot win over Lyman’s Courtney Anderson. Marlee Larson of Stanley County qualified for the State B Girls tournament next week with a round of 114 and a 11th place finish.
