PIERRE, S.D. – Bo Atkins and Ryan Goodwin shutdown the Rapid City Bats last night as the Pierre Spring High School Baseball team swept a doubleheader downing Rapid City Stevens 8-0 and 10-0 at Hyde Stadium. Atkins pitched the first 5 innings of game 1 and Goodwin went the distance in the nightcap. Pierre jumped out on the visitors scoring runs in the first inning in both games and did not let up as they won their 5th and 6th straight games, all against region opponents and improved their record to 7 and 3 on the season. Willie Welch and Cash Anderson each tripled with Welch’s coming in the first game and Anderson’s in the nightcap. Pierre entertains Brandon Valley tomorrow night at Hyde Stadium in a 5:30 pm doubleheader.
