WATERTOWN, S.D. – The Pierre Lady Governor golf team won their second tournament ins as many days yesterday as they fired a 326 to claim the team title of the Watertown Invitational girls golf tournament. The Lady Govs finished 15 shots better than runner up Watertown. Brandon Valley as a distant thrid at 369. For a second straight day, Kristin Sabers of Mitchell caputered the individual medalist title with a 75. Pierre’s Katie Bartlett came in with a 77 and Karissa Guthrie had a 78 good for a third place finish. Tatum Richards 86 landed her a 84 and Jenna Johnson had a 87 good for a 9th place finish. Paige Lonbakken and Joni Willoughby each had 96′s for the Lady Govs who played the tournament with out their number 1 golfer Hallie Getz. A total of 7 teams played in the tournament. Pierre now prepares to host it’s only home meet of the season, the Pierre Invitational Friday at the Hillsview Golf Course.
