Capital City Children’s Chorus to Host 20th Anniversary Event

The members of the Capital City Children’s Chorus are back from Boston, but they aren’t resting on their musical laurels. Less than 24 hours after returning to Pierre, the 52-child chorus, along with its director Barb Newman and numerous supporters were deep in final plans for their 20th anniversary musical extravaganza and fundraiser. The Mad Hatter Tea Party will be Sunday, May 5th at the Ramkota Hotel in Pierre.

Doors will open at noon with brunch served at 1 p.m. The show will include musical performances by members of the children’s chorus, an adult 9-piece orchestra, and will feature shadow puppet entertainment by Courtney Sheffield.

Tickets are on sale at Hallmark Card & Candy, Lynn’s Dakotamart and Pierre Flowershop. Tickets can also be ordered by emailing
