PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota High School Activities Association Board of Directors passed the addition of a shot clock in Class A basketball, effective the 2014-15 season.  The board of directors made their decision yesterday during their April meeting in Pierre.  Following next season, Class A will join Class AA and use the 35-second shot clock in both boys’ and girls’ basketball, leaving Class B as the only class in the state that won’t use a shot clock.  The shot clock proposal was voted upon at the annual athletic directors meetings in Pierre earlier this month. The ADs voted 26-21 in favor of the addition of a shot clock in Class A. The Class B proposal was voted down 49-13.
