Three Arrested After Early Morning Traffic Stop in Pierre

PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) Three arrests were made early this morning after Pierre Police stopped a vehicle in the 100 Block of South Willow Avenue.  Pierre Police Captain Elton Blemaster says officers initiated the traffic stop on a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Dathan Little Wounded of Dupree around 3:30 a.m. this morning in a northwest Pierre neighborhood.  Blemaster says drugs were found in the vehicle and tests showed they were methamphetamine and Oxycontin.  Little Wounded was arrested for Driving Without a Valid License or Permit, Ingesting, and Possession of a Controlled Drug or Substance.  Also taken into custody was 24-year old John Garreaux, Jr. of Dupree for Ingesting and Possession of a Controlled Drug or Substance and 41-year-old Yolanda Young Bird of Bismarck, North Dakota was arrested on two warrants from Pennington County and for Ingesting, False Impersonation to Deceive Law Enforcement and Possessing a Controlled Drug or Substance.
