PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Governor Spring High School baseball team has a change in their original schedule. Pierre was scheduled to travel to Sturgis on Saturday, May 4th. Instead, Pierre will travel to Sturgis on Sunday, May 5th and will play a doubleheader with both games counting in the South Dakota High School League Regional standings. Pierre head coach Steve Gray says Sturgis will not make a trip to Pierre this spring. Sturgis had a doublheader with Pierre weathered out this past Sunday in Pierre. Coach Gray also says that the Pierre schedule has been revised. Rapid City Central, which was supposed to play in Pierre Wednesday night but has been postponed will now host Pierre in a doubleheader next Tueseday, April 23rd. And Wednesday, May 8th doubleheader with Rapid City Stevens in Pierre will now have both games of the doubleheader count toward the South Dakota High School League standings. Pierre will also host Brandon Valley in a doubleheader on Friday May 9th and they will go to Brookings on May 12th for games against Brookings and Yankton. The regional tournament would be held the weekend of May 18 and 19 with the Class A high school state tournament to be played on Saturday May 25th.
