PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) Work to rehabilitate two bridges on Highway 65 south of McIntosh will be delayed a week because of the wintry weather that is impacting the region. The South Dakota Department of Transportation says last week’s weather and the forecast for the next few days means that the start of work will be delayed from today to next Monday, April 22. When construction starts, both bridges will be reduced to one 12-foot lane of traffic which will be controlled by stop lights. The bridge work is expected to be completed mid-summer with an overall completion date of November 1. The $5.3 million dollar bridge project will include guardrail replacement, bridge rail modification and epoxy deck seals.
