SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) – Officials have reopened the stretch of Interstate 90 between Chamberlain and Mitchell, and the highway is now open in South Dakota from the Wyoming border to the Minnesota border.
The interstate had been shut down by the spring storm pounding the state with ice and heavy snow. The Chamberlain-to-Mitchell stretch was the last to reopen.
Officials say Interstate 29 south of Sioux Falls also is open again to traffic, after utility crews removed a power line downed by ice.
Traffic had been rerouted around a 2-mile stretch of I-29 near Tea for much of Wednesday because of the downed line.
