PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) Here are some school and other weather related announcements for today. SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

-Lyman Schools-one hour late start Thursday

-Highmore/Harrold-two hour late start tomorrow

-Kimball School will open two hours late tomorrow

-Chamberlain Schools will open two hours late Thursday. No morning PAWS.

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

-Capital Area Counseling Services is closed today and there will be no groups held tonight.

-The City of Pierre has lifted the snow Emergency Snow Route Declaration.  Vehicles may utilize streets designated as snow routes for parking.

-The Kadoka Area MS/JH Track Meet scheduled for Friday, April 12, 2013 has been cancelled

-Tonight’s visitation for Anthony Deters has been cancelled due to the weather.  Services will be held tomorrow (Thursday) at two o’clock at Isburg Funeral Chapel

-Angel’s Salon is closed today. They will resume regular hours tomorrow.

-Pryntcomm in Pierre is closed.

-Dakota Plains Federal Credit Union of Pierre is open today.

-The Pierre American Legion is closed today.

-Avera Medical Group will not offer urgent care today from 5-7 p.m.

-Movie Mania in Pierre is closed.

-The Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce is closed.  Tentative plans are to re-open the office at 8:00 a.m. Thursday, April 11.

-THE OFFICE portion of Anytime Fitness is closed.

-Sully County offices are closed.

-Sanford Clinic in Pierre is closed.

-No choir rehearsal at First Congregational UCC Church this evening.

-Madison Avenue Church of Christ has cancelled it’s 7PM Bible Classes.

-Faith Lutheran Church has cancelled evening classes for today.

-The Pierre Mall is closed today, but Kmart is open.

-Oahe Federal Credit Union in Pierre is closed.

-Oahe Valley Health Center in Fort Pierre is OPEN and seeing all patients.  In addition, their clinic sites in Gettysburg, Onida, Highmore, Presho, and Murdo are currently open.

-Fort Pierre National Grassland Office is closed.

-Fort Pierre Planning and Zoning Committee meeting scheduled for tonight has been postponed to April 17.

-State government offices in South Dakota are closed. Essential services, including the Emergency Operations Center, will remain open.  State employees who have not been able to reach work due to the severe weather are encouraged to stay home. As always, citizens with emergencies should call 9-1-1.

-The YMCA & Pierre Aquatics Center is closed today and all programs cancelled.  The Y will plan for a regular opening on Thursday, however, please check their website and Facebook page for updates.

-EnviroTech would like to remind you that if you were missed on Tuesday or today due to weather, they will pick up on your regular day next week.

-The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers canceled its spring public meeting set for 11 a.m. this morning. The staff was set to provide the public with an update on the status of hydrologic conditions and reservoir release plans for the remainder of the 2013 runoff year.  The public is encouraged to view the PowerPoint presentation online: http://www.nwd-mr.usace.army.mil/rcc/reports/pdfs/Spring2013Presentation.pdf. -Oahe Marina is closed today.

-City of Pierre Landfill is closed today.  The solid waste baling facility is open.  If weather allows, the city will pick up Thursday garbage routes as normal.  If city trucks can’t get out on Thursday, they will do Thursday routes on Friday.  If you have questions, call 773-7434.

-Sanford-Chamberlain Clinic is closed all day today.

-The Barnica Auction in Glad Valley, SD that was scheduled today is CANCELLED & RESCHEDULED ~ for Thursday, April 18th

-Oahe Inc. and Value Village will be closed today.

-(From the City of Pierre) Residents are reminded that it is a violation of city ordinance to move snow back onto a plowed street from either a driveway or sidewalk.

-Today, Avera Medical Group will be operating as urgent care with walk-ins only. All patients with appointments scheduled for today will need to call to reschedule.

-The Pierre Area Referral Service and Pierre-Fort Pierre Pantry is closed today. For emergency assistance, call the Pierre Police Department for assistance at 773-7410.

-All Wednesday programs at Lutheran Memorial Church in Pierre are cancelled.

-There will be no Wednesday evening service and children’s classes at New Life Assembly today.

-The Boys and Girls Club of the Capital Area will be closed today.

-All Rehabilitation Services at Avera St. Mary’s Hospital are cancelled for today. This includes Physical, Occupational, Speech and Massage Therapy and Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.

-Tonight’s Faith Formation and Catechisis of the Good Shepherd classes at St. John’s Catholic Church have been canceled.

-Today’s AWANA at Community Bible Church in Pierre is cancelled

-The Big Dakota Conference Golf Meet in Pierre scheduled for Thursday has been cancelled.

-SD Urban Indian Health of Pierre is closed today.

-Professional Counseling Associates in Pierre is closed today.
