VERMILLION, S.D. - Both South Dakota men’s and women’s track and field teams are ranked 13th in the latest Midwest Region poll from to the U.S. Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association. The men rank better than Big 10 school Iowa, who finished 15th in the poll. Minnesota is the top men’s team in the region, while Nebraska and Oklahoma rank second and third. The women also rank better than one bordering Big 10 school, as Nebraska finished one spot behind USD in 14th. Illinois, Kansas, and Iowa State make up the top-three on the women’s side. South Dakota and North Dakota State are the only Summit League schools to have teams ranked in a regional poll. The Bison, who are also in the Midwest Region, rank sixth in the women’s poll and 11th in the men’s poll.
