Class B All State Girls Basketball Team Named

ABERDEEN, S.D. – State Champion Warner did not place a single player on the first team Class B All State Girls Basketball team named today by the South Dakota Basketball Coaches Association and the South Dakota Sportswriters Association.  Warner did have two player earn second team all state honors.  Heading up the first team is Karen O’Malley of Centerville who averaged 31 points per game this season.  Shauni Schwartz of Herreid-Selby is also on the first team after averaging 17.4 points and 9.9 rebounds per game this season.  Logan O’Farrell and Presly O’Farrell of Summit and Taylor Trohkimoinen of Newell round out the first team All State selections.  All five of the first team All State players are seniors.

FIRST TEAM

Logan O’Farrell, senior, Summit (16.5 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 3.5 apg).

Kieran O’Malley, senior, Centerville (31 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 3 apg).

Taylor Trohkimoinen, senior, Newell (20.4 ppg, 9.6 rpg, 6.2 apg).

Presley O’Farrell, senior, Summit (13.2 ppg, 7 rpg, 3.5 apg).

Shauni Schwartz, senior, Herreid-Selby Area (17.4 ppg, 9.3 rpg, 2.5 apg).

SECOND TEAM

Shelby Selland, junior, Sanborn Central-Woonsocket (17 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 1.7 apg).

Miranda Ristau, junior, Warner (14.1 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 2.3 apg).

Rachel Rogers, senior, Warner (15.3 ppg, 9.3 rpg, 1.2 apg).

Chesney Nagel, junior, Avon (20.2 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 3.0 apg).

Haley Froelich, senior, Lemmon (18.8 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 2.8 apg).

THIRD TEAM

Cassidy Graham, junior, Hanson (14.4 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 1.5 apg).

Kristie Mettler, senior, Timber Lake (17.2 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 3.0 apg).

BreeAna Olson, senior, Oldham-Ramona-Rutland (20 ppg, 7 rpg, 4 apg).

Ashley Rozell, sophomore, Warner, (13.5 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 3.0 apg).

Darbi Gustafson, sophomore, Ethan (15 ppg, 10 rpg, 2 apg).
