MILLER, S.D. (AP) – The South Dakota Agriculture in the Classroom organization is seeking nominations for its teacher of the year award.
The award recognizes a teacher who integrates agricultural concepts into non-agricultural classes in kindergarten through 8th grade.
The organization says teachers competing for the award must use agricultural information to help students understand the importance of agriculture. Learning activities may include an understanding of agriculture’s impact on people’s lives, the environment and South Dakota’s economy.
Students, colleagues, parents and agricultural organizations can nominate a teacher for the award. Teachers also can nominate themselves.
Applications are available on the South Dakota Agriculture in the Classroom website at http://www.agclassroom.org/sd
