Walleye Research Project on Lake Oahe Includes Cash for Anglers

PIERRE, S.D. (AP) – Catching walleyes on Lake Oahe could be profitable for anglers in the coming years. State wildlife agencies in South Dakota and North Dakota are cooperating on a project to tag at least 40,000 walleyes in the next four years as part of a project to learn more about the fish population in the lake. Amateur Baseball Institutes New Rules at Winter Meeting

  MITCHELL, S.D. – Stiffer penalties will be enforced for players who verbally abuse umpires at amateur baseball games this season.  The newly enacted rule was voted on Sunday during the annual amateur baseball winter meeting  in Mitchell. It now states that players who verbally abuse umpires will receive suspensions of one to five league, district or state tournament games, depending on when the offense occurred.  Previously, players who were …

Ft. Pierre Native Sets Purdue Rebounding Record

  LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) – Ft. Pierre native Sam Ostarello scored 10 points and grabbed a school record 17 rebounds as fourth-seeded Purdue routed Liberty 77-43 Sunday in the opening round of the NCAA tournament.
