DRG was on hand March 19 when the Fort Pierre Train Depot pulled up to a spot near its new foundation. In this raw video, watch as workers carefully pull the depot off of Highway 83 into the “turnaround” along the road, just yards away from where its new foundation was placed. The depot was trucked from Fort Pierre to a Mud Butte area ranch after it was purchased in the 1960′s and rancher Shirley Miller has graciously given back the building to the community. Its new home is short distance away from where it used to serve railroad customers-starting in the early 1900′s.
