PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) The South Dakota Wheat Commission’s annual “Bake and Take Day” is coming up this week end. This year’s Bake and Take Day will be held Saturday and as part of the day, home bakers of all ages are invited to bake home-made goodies and share them with friends, neighbors or those who may not be able to bake themselves. The Wheat Commission says those who participate in Bake and Take Day can also win prizes. Contestants who write in to tell them about their Bake and Take activity will be entered into a random drawing for $50 cash in one of four categories. Mary Ellen Wagner, director of Communications for the SDWC says Bake and Take Day has a long tradition in the state as a way to educate consumers of the importance of home baking and wheat foods consumption. Summaries of Bake and Take Day activities can be mailed to the Wheat Commission at Box 549, Pierre, 57501 or e-mail the information to the South Dakota Wheat Commission at firstname.lastname@example.org. Entries must be in by April 15.
