Mitchell’s Young Named Gatorade Basketball Girls Player of Year in South Dakota

CHICAGO – Mitchell High School senior Kerri Young was named the 2012-13 Gatorade South Dakota Girls Basketball Player of the Year, according to a press release Thursday.
Young, a 6-foot-1 guard and South Dakota State signee, averaged 17 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.6 steals per game for the Kernels (21-14). Mitchell lost in the Class AA state title game to Sioux Falls Lincoln.
