PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) Tuesday brings the annual Think and Drive-Stay Alive program to Pierre based stations of the Dakota Radio Group. Join us at 9:15 a.m. as we begin our broadcast-which will originate from the Riggs High School Theater. This year’s speakers include Attorney General Marty Jackley, who will speak about the dangerous fake substances that are known as “synthetic drugs”. We will also feature a presentation from Peter Maningas, MD, who works at Avera St. Mary’s Hospital and is a member of the Pierre Police Department Reserves and SWAT Team. He will talk about his experiences as an emergency room physician. Our final guest will be Justin Iburg, who chose to text while driving in Mitchell September 20, 2010. That action resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
This is the 11th year we have brought you the Pierre-based Think and Drive program and our broadcasts throughout the years have been seen by about 9,000 high school students.
We expect students from school districts including Jones County, Crow Creek, Kadoka Area, Highmore/Harrold, Stanley County, Riggs High School, Sully Buttes and from the Pierre Indian Learning Center.
Listen to the broadcast on the radio on KGFX-AM, or 94 Country (KPLO) at 94.5 or 100.5 FM, 100.1 The Eagle and River 92.7. We also plan to have audio links which will be accessible from our website at www.drgnews.com. Just mouse over the words “Listen Live” in the orange bar at the top of the page and click on the link for the station you’d like to listen to the program through. We also plan a video webcast under the same “Listen Live” tab…just simply click on the “Governor Sports” link.
