SDSU Advances to Summit League Tournament Title Game

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota State trailed by as many as 12 points in the first half of Sunday’s Summit League Semifinals, but the top-seeded Jackrabbits used a 9-0 run to get back in the game and a 22-3 run to secure the 72-56 win over No. 5 seed Fort Wayne and advance to Tuesday’s league finals.  Nate Wolters led a trio of Jackrabbits in double figures with 18 points, and tied a career-high with 12 assists. Chad White added 17 points in going 6-for-7 from the field, 4-for-5 from 3-point range. Tony Fiegen finished with 16 points, while Jordan Dykstra added nine points to go along with his game-high nine rebounds.  Frank Gaines of the Mastadons led all players in the game with 25 points.  The win propels the Jacks to the Summit League Championship Finals for a chance to defend their 2012 tournament title as they take on 3rd seed North Dakota State, a 55-43 winner over Western Illinois in the other semi final game.  The Summit League Championship game will be broadcast on 1060 KGFX beginning with the pre game at 7:30 pm tonight.
