PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) A Huron woman was arrested over the weekend on allegations that she was driving while intoxicated and possessed a loaded firearm while intoxicated. Pierre Police Captain Elton Blemaster says police stopped 37-year-old Becky Hofer early Saturday morning about 2:00 a.m. The traffic stop was made in southeast Pierre on Lowell Avenue near Sully Avenue after she was reportedly noted driving her vehicle without headlights. Hofer was arrested for DUI-1st and her vehicle was searched. That’s when police located a loaded .22 caliber handgun in her vehicle. Hofer was taken to jail for DUI-1st and Loaded Firearm in Possession While Intoxicated.
