UNDATED – The three girls state high school basketball tournaments begin today in 3 different locations across South Dakota. The Class AA tournament will be played in Rapid City where Aberdeen Central will open up tournament play against Sturgis followed by Sioux Falls Roosvelt taking on Sioux Falls Lincoln. Sioux Falls Washington meets Sioux Falls O’Gorman and defending state champion Mitchell will play Rapid City Central in the days final game. The Class A state tournament is in Watertown where Harrisburg is the top seed making it’s first ever girls State Basketball tournament appearance as they open up against Sioux Falls Christian followed by Clark-Willow Lake and Aberdeen Roncalli. The night games at the A have Spearfish taking on West Central and the final game of the day pits Chamberlain and their 19 game winning streak against Pine Ridge. The Class B State tournament will be played in Huron where top seed Warner opens up tournament play against Timber Lake followed by Sanborn Central-Woonsocket taking on Sully Buttes. The night games at the B State tournament have DeSmet facing Parker and Hanson taking on Wall. The three tournaments will crown their champions Saturday night.
