Pierre School Board Accepts Retirement and Resignations Monday

PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) The Pierre School Board accepted three notices of retirement or resignations yesterday at their monthly meeting.

Submitting her retirement was Glenda Woodburn, who is currently a math teacher at Georgia Morse Middle School.  She has served the Pierre School District for 25 years, starting her career in the district at the former Lincoln Elementary in 1980.

The board also accepted the resignations of Heath and Misty Larson.  Heath Larson is currently the Principal of Buchanan Elementary School. He is taking a position with the Chester Area School District as school superintendent.  His wife Misty is a math teacher at Riggs High School and she served as an assistant varsity track coach until 2009 when she was named as the Head Varsity Track Coach.  Both have worked in the Pierre District for eight years.
