Two Arrested After Vehicle Strikes Missouri River Bridge



PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) Two people were arrested by Pierre Police after officers were called to a report of an argument occurring at a Pierre apartment.  Police Captain Elton Blemaster says police were summoned to a residence in the 600 block of West Dakota Avenue where they were told an argument was occurring between two women.  After speaking to the women, Blemaster says officers discovered that a vehicle owned by one of the women had been involved in a one vehicle crash and that the car had hit the Waldron Memorial Bridge traveling from Fort Pierre into Pierre.  The 1997 Chevrolet Lumina, owned by Natalie Lewis of Pierre, had sustained about $4,800 in damage, while the bridge was not damaged.  Lewis was subsequently arrested on a parole violation and for Obstructing Law Enforcement.  Meanwhile, Kelsey Flute of Pierre was arrested for DUI-2nd, Driving While Suspended, Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Failure to Report an Accident.
