PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Governor basketball team puts their 6 game winning streak on the line tonight when they face the Yankton Bucks at Riggs High Gym in an ESD Conference contest. It will be the first meeting of the season between the two teams. The Governors are 8 and 6 and coming off 24 and 37 points wins over Rapid City Central and Sturgis. Yankton is 3 and 7 on the season but have some impressive wins over Huron and Sioux Falls Lincoln on their resume. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 pm and the Dakota Radio Group will have covrage of tonights game on RIVER 92.7-FM. The game can also be accessed on the DRG website www.drgnews.com. Tomorrow Night the Pierre Governors travel to Brandon to face the Brandon Valley Lynx in their second matchup of the season. The game is the final game of the Dakota Schoolers Sanford Pentagon Classic that Brandon is hosting tomorrow. There are a total of 6 games on the schedule beginning at 12 noon. Pierre and Brandon Valley will play the final game of the day at 7:30 pm. Fans attending the games are reminded that ticket prices for a day pass and all 6 games is $10 for adults and $5 for students. After 6:30 pm ticket prices are the normal $5 for adults and $3 for students.

The Lady Govs are coming off a 31 points setback at Mitchell on Tuesday night and have dropped 4 of their last 5. Pierre takes a 6-6 record to Yankton against a Gazelle team that has had it’s struggles this season as well. Yankton is 2 and 9 going into tonight’s game. Tip off of the game is scheduled for 7:30 pm and coverage of the game can be heard on 1060 KGFX. The game can also be accessed on the DRG website www.drgnews.com. Tomorrow night, the Lady Govs will host Brandon Valley in the second meeting of the season between the two.
