PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) A controlled burn is underway today at Farm Island.  Area residents should note that if they see smoke at Farm Island-it is part of a pre-planned burn off.  Pierre Police Captain Elton Blemaster says there have been several calls to dispatchers at the police department about the controlled burn.  The burn could last a few days, and is being monitored.
