Ostarello Earns Big 10 Player of the Week Award

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue senior forward Sam Ostarello was named Big Ten Player of the Week on Tuesday after helping the Boilermakers to an 82-75 triple overtime win against Ohio State on Monday. Ostarello recorded 22 points, tied her career high with 19 rebounds and set a career high with eight blocked shots against the Buckeyes. It was the most blocks by a Boilermaker since Danielle Campbell set the school record with 11 against Butler on Nov. 17, 2007.  The Fort Pierre, S.D., native played a career-high 51 of 55 minutes and added three steals and three assists, while converting a career-best 10-of-12 free throws in Purdue’s third-straight overtime contest.
