PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) A Pierre man was indicted last month on charges that allege he installed a device that allowed him to view and photograph what was occurred in a Pierre hotel room.  45-year-old Jeffrey Wright was arrested December 6 and was indicted December 18 on charges of Trespass with Intent to Eavesdrop and Taking Pictures without Consent.  Court papers say that police received a report that a camera was found hidden in the bathroom vent of a room at the Pierre Inn and Suites on December 5.  Police were able to trace wires from the camera to another room, which the probable cause affidavit lists as having been Wright’s.  The paperwork says the cables were hooked to a TV in Wright’s room.

An attorney was appointed to represent Wright and he will next appear in court on January 31 to be arraigned on the charges.

Police stressed after Wright’s arrest that only one room at the business contained a camera-the room where investigators were initially called in early December.
