Governors Lose 4th Straight in Overtime at Mike Miller Classic

MITCHELL, S.D. – The Pierre Governor basketball team lost their 4th straight game Saturday night at the Mike Miller Classic in Mitchell.  The Governors dropped an 84-80 overtime verdict to Our Savior New American High School of New York.  Cooper Walton’s basket at the buzzer sent the game into the extra frame.  Pierre built an 11 point lead in the first half only to see Our Savior take a 1 point lead into halftime at 41-40.  Our Savior had a 10 point lead in the second half only to see the Governors come back and take a 2 point lead late.  But Our Savior took control in the overtime and hit some key free throws down the stretch to claim the victory.  Zach Hanson had 30 points to lead the Governors while Lane Severyn added 22.  Pierre is now 2 and 4 on the season as they travel to Watertown for lone game of the week next Saturday.
