PIERRE, S.D – The Pierre Lady Governor basketball team was outscored 13-4 in the second quarter and never could get the lead as they dropped a 48-44 verdict to Rapid City Central in high school girls basketball in Pierre Friday night. The loss was the first of the season for Pierre after winning their first 4 games. Tori Holt led the Cobblers with 20 points and 9 rebounds as Rapid City evened it’s record at 3-3 on the season. Kaitlin Severy had 15 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double for Pierre. Sydney Palmer added 11 points but Pierre only shot 22 percent from 3-point range and just 34 percent on the game. Pierre travels to Marshall, Minnesota to play Cottage Grove, Minnesota in the Southwest Minnesota State Classic tomorrow night. Rapid City Central heads to Aberdeen to face the Golden Eagle who played Rapid City Stevens tonight. The Cobblers game is at 1:45 pm tomorrow afternoon.
