SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — The South Dakota Highway Patrol says two of its vehicles have been hit by other vehicles in separate accidents on slippery Interstate 29, but there were no injuries in the crashes. Trooper Jason Husby was traveling northbound Thursday morning at a reduced speed on I-29 in southeastern South Dakota when a southbound vehicle slid across the median and struck the rear of the patrol vehicle. Also on Thursday morning, Trooper Dave Knutson was assisting someone on I-29 near Sioux Falls when another vehicle struck the back of his vehicle. Highway Patrol Maj. Randy Hartley says Knutson’s accident is a reminder that state law requires motorists to move over when they see law enforcement and emergency response vehicles displaying flashing yellow or amber lights.
