Capitals Finish Off Weekend Sweep of Rushmore

 FT. PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre-Ft. Pierre Capitals Varsity boys hockey team completed a 3 game sweep of the Rushmore Thunder Sunday morning with a 7-4 win in South Dakota High School Hockey League action in Ft. Pierre at the EXPO Center. Brandon Swenson had a pair of first period goals and Bo Atkins and Grady Tibbs added second period goals to build a 4-0 lead befor Rushmore’s Alec Ryman scored the first of his three goals in the contest. After Rushmore cut the Capatals lead to 4-3 Austin Wagner and Drew Leif scored to put the game away. Tyler Vandermaten scored the other Capitals goal as they won for the 7th straight time. Kyle Mammenga made 20 saves in the game. Pierre-Ft. Pierre travels to Paynesville, Minnesota to compete in a non conference tournament on Wednesday.
