PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) A man was arrested early this morning after Pierre Police were told about a domestic argument that was happening–and that the disagreement possibly included a knife. Pierre Police Captain Elton Blemaster says officers were called to the Pierre Inn and Suites around midnight and when they arrived, some people told the officers they heard a woman yelling for help. Police had to force open a door as they responded to where the argument was occurring. Blemaster says once inside, officers encountered 33-year-old Matthew Parson. Blemaster says Parson had to be pepper sprayed by officers to be taken into custody. He was arrested for Simple Assault (Domestic Violence) and Resisting Arrest. A 39-year-old female victim was taken to St. Mary’s Healthcare Center by ambulance to be seen for non-life threatening injuries. Parson was transported to the Hughes County Jail.
