Dwayne Prince Honored at 2012 Ag Banquet

 

 

PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) A Stanley County producer was named the Outstanding Farmer/Rancher at Saturday’s 30th annual Ag Appreciation Banquet.  The event is hosted by the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce Agri-Interest Committee.  Dwayne Prince was honored Saturday after being nominated for the annual award.  Dwayne and his wife Dori live and work on the family farm/ranch that Dwayne’s paternal great-grandparents homesteaded in 1909.  He manages about 15,000 owned acres and 1,980 rented acres.  Prince farms using no-till practices and runs about 700 head of Red Angus cattle.

Also honored on Saturday were the recipients of two scholarships-offered by the Chamber’s Agri-Interest Committee.  The two $500 scholarships were given to high school senior Brady Woodring and Jake Etzkorn-who is a freshman at Eastern Wyoming College.

The entertainment at Friday’s Ag Appreciation Banquet was provided by Cowboy Poet and Humorist R.P. Smith.  Saturday’s event was held at the Ramkota Hotel.
