PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre-Ft. Pierre Capital Varsity Boys Hockey team went 1 and 2 over the weekend at the Rooster Cup season opening hockey tournament. The Capitals were beaten 4-1 by Gabrel-Roy and 4-3 by Jeanne-Suave on Saturday in games played in Huron. Both teams were teams from Canada. But the Capitals salvaged the final game of the weekend yesterday as they downed Team Wyoming 5-1 at the EXPO Center. The Capitals are 3-2-2 on the season as they open up league play next weekend with games at Sioux Falls on Friday and Saturday and a matchup in Brookings against the Rangers on Sunday.
