BROOKINGS, S.D. — South Dakota State fell behind early in its women’s basketball home opener Wednesday night and Creighton answered every Jackrabbit run en route to a 63-54 victory at Frost Arena. Megan Waytashek scored a game-high 14 points to lead the Jackrabbits. Gabrielle Boever tallied 10 points, with Ashley Eide and Pierre native Katie Lingle each scoring nine. Lingle added a game-high nine rebounds to pace SDSU’s 39-32 advantage on the boards. Carli Tritz led four Creighton players in double figures with 13 points. The Bluejays improved to 1-1 with the road victory. SDSU dropped to 1-2 overall.
