PIERRE, S.D. – A third member of this year’s senior class at Riggs High School has signed a letter of intent to continue their athletic career at the Division I University. Defending State Class AA Girls Golf Champion Hallie Getz signed a letter of intent to attend South Dakota State next year and be a member of the Jackrabbit golf team. In an interview she tells us how she arrived at going to SDSU.
Her head coach, John Knox was on hand for the signing ceremony Thursday afternoon at Riggs High Gym. Getz is the first golfer from Pierre that he has coached that will go on to play Division I golf and with the spring and summer she has had, the sky is the limit according to coach Knox.
Getz joins fellow seniors Zach Hansen and Lane Severyn as signing letters of intent on the first days of the fall signing period for NCAA Institutions. Hansen signed yesterday to attend Crieghton University in Omaha to play Division I Basketball while Severyn signed to play basketball at South Dakota State.
